Staldgården | Museum Kolding, Stories from World War II

In the heart of Kolding lies Staldgården – a place whose history is closely interwoven with that of the entire city.

In the centre of Kolding lies the stables or Staldgården: a location whose history is closely woven with that of the rest of the city.

Staldgården houses the city’s museum and has multiple exhibitions. One of the exhibitions tells the story about the goldsmith, Holger Kyster, and his elegant silver works, which were created in collaboration with some of the most well-known Danish names in design at the time.

Another exhibition brings you close to life during the Second World War where Staldgården was seized by the Gestapo. This was a rough and grim chapter in Kolding’s history where everyday life was difficult, and the resistance against the occupation ruled.

In a third exhibition, Made in Kolding, you gain insight into the companies that shaped Kolding. Do you remember the moped from Disella?
