Go. Eat. Meet. Local

Go. Eat. Meet. Local.

The only rule on this trip is: don’t rush. Take your time. Chat with a beekeeper. Enjoy a food tour with a local foodie. Stay at a cozy B&B like Bellas – she’s on a first-name basis with the cow that provides the milk for your breakfast. Visit Skærsøgaard Vineyard and enjoy the grand tasting of Danish wines that have won top awards in official tastings.

The next day, head to Lindely Vineyard for a tasting of Danish specialty wines accompanied by a tapas buffet.

Or spend part of your second day relaxing in the green surroundings of the Geographical Garden.

If you really want to get close to the locals, see if you can join a full-weekend gastronomic survival tour – it takes you past all of the region’s specialties.

Active Outdoor – Must-Sees by Bike

Our region is a national hotspot for history, culture, art, design, and gastronomy.

And everything lies so close together that you can easily reach it on a good cycling trip through the area.

Start in Kolding, Vejle, or Billund. Pack your essentials and head out on a three-day adventure. Follow our suggested routes – they will take you through the most beautiful landscapes and lead you to our must-sees:

  • Kongernes Jelling and the Monument Area – UNESCO World Heritage

  • Koldinghus – the 750-year-old royal castle, today a powerhouse of cultural history

  • Christiansfeld – UNESCO World Heritage

  • Trapholt – Museum of Art and Design

The routes are short enough to allow time to enjoy the ride, immerse yourself in the must-sees, and end the day with great food and relaxation.
