The Great Culture Tour - Fantastic tour that provides insight into cultures and design
Explore art, design and architecture on a three-day journey through Kolding, Billund and Vejle – three cities known for creativity and culture.
Day 1

KOLDINGHUS
FROM ROYAL PALACE TO NEW DESIGN
In the mid-13th century, the king had Koldinghus built so that the castle could stand guard at the border between Denmark and Schleswig. After a fatal fire in 1808, the castle lay in ruins. Today, it has been rebuilt in such a way that the ruin is an attraction in itself, while the building today houses a powerhouse of a museum within art and culture.
Over time, Koldinghus has been rebuilt many times. Often after fires. However, in 1808, things went completely wrong, and the castle lay in ruins for almost 100 years, before good forces gradually began to rebuild the castle.
It was the architects Inger and Johannes Exner who drew the line. They chose to let the ruin remain visible and instead used wood and steel in the load-bearing and visible structures. The result was - deservedly - recognized with the Europa Nostra award in 1993.

Or how about putting together your very own exhibition of works from the collection in YOUR exhibition.
Trapholt is known for its beautiful location. The museum winds through a sculpture park and a beautiful garden high above Kolding Fjord. From the museum and café there is a fantastic panoramic view. PLAY WITH SHAPES IN LEGO HOUSE®
The dream of the ultimate LEGO® experience for LEGO fans of all ages has come to life. The framework was created by the world-renowned Danish architect Bjarke Ingels. Millions of LEGO bricks await in a long series of hands-on experience zones. Build a sea creature. Create a LEGO flower. Shoot a film. Help your beekeeper robot. Play city architect for a day and manage an entire interactive city. Feel how learning through play mobilizes far more channels for learning than when you try to read your way to new knowledge.
On the upper floors you can find amazing models built by AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO). In the basement you can go down memory lane and see almost every LEGO box that has been produced throughout history.
