The gateway to the river valley – exhibition
Learn more about the Hærvejen, Vejle’s river valleys and the fjord through the exhibitions at the visitor centre near Haraldskær. Take off your hiking boots and relax in the natural lounge furniture with films and mobile charging facilities. In the various exhibitions, you can learn more about the history of the surrounding nature, the Hærvejen route, biodiversity, wildlife and much more.

Start your journey through Vejle’s beautiful river valleys with a visit to the manor farm at Haraldskær. At this gathering place, commonly known as “The Gateway to the River Valley”, you’ll find two different exhibitions about the Hærvejen hiking route and walking culture, as well as Vejle River Valley and Fjord.
Admission to the exhibitions is free, and they are open daily from 7 am to 10 pm.
Exhibition about Vejle River Valley and Fjord
The beautiful exhibition about Vejle River Valley and Fjord takes you through fascinating themes such as:
- The history of the river valley from the Viking Age to the time of the Egtved Girl
- The rich wildlife in the water, on land and in the air
- Biodiversity in the city
- Unique nature experiences in the area
The exhibition was created by Vejle Municipality, Økolariet and Vejle River Valley and Fjord, among others.
Exhibition about the Hærvejen
A new exhibition opened in the manor farm’s north wing in spring 2026. Here, you can learn more about Denmark’s longest hiking route and its 4,000-year-old walking history. If you are hiking yourself, you can relax in the natural and comfortable lounge furniture while watching the film about the Hærvejen. You can even charge your phone here.
