Nicolai - Culture house in Kolding

Nicolai is a cultural power force in the center of Kolding.

The complex consists of five independent houses but works as one cultural unit. The frame signals both quality and new thinking – something that recurs in all the houses and the things they have to offer.

In Nicolai, we cultivate diversity, creativity and new meetings between different forms of art and cultures.

Nicolai Biograf
The cinema is an ”art cinema”, that shows a wide selection of artistic quality movies, complimented with a mainstream-repertoire that covers children’s and youth films, family and documentaries. Both cinema halls are fully digitalized, so both picture and audio contribute to the big cinema experience. The cinema offers a list of cultural events such as lectures, debate nights, theme days etc.

Nicolai Café
In Nicolai Cafe you can get classic Danish open sandwiches with a modern twist, pizza from the stone oven and light classic cafe dishes.

Kolding Stadsarkiv
The City Archive is the city and municipality’s memory. Here you will find stories about the life in Kolding – photographs, film and reports. The City Archive is the center for studies in the history of the city – both for scientists, citizens of the city and school children. Everyone can use the archive, no matter if there is something you want to know or if there is something you would like to tell.
