Danish Museum of Nursing History - In Kolding

The Museum of Danish Nursing History is the only professional museum on nursing in Denmark. The exhibitions shows the history of the nurse, patient and health system in Denmark from the Middle Ages until today.

The permanent exhibition at the Danish Museum for the History of Nursing (Danish Nursing History Museum) touches on the topics of calling, hierarchies in the hospitals, the history of nursing, the founding of the Danish Nursing Council, nurses abroad, home nursing, education, living conditions, etc.
The permanent exhibition consists of several displays, along with changing temporary exhibitions.

The museum's buildings were originally part of the (“julemærke”) Sanatorium at Kolding Fjord, built in 1911 as Denmark's first sanatorium for children with tuberculosis.

Today, the whole of the old sanatorium area is a beautiful and exciting excursion site with nature, a museum and the opportunity for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat at Hotel Koldingfjord.
